Obama and Kumar Go to White House.

Well, shit.  Go America.  President Obama has hired actor Kal Penn to work for him.  He’s going to be some sort of a cultural attache to Asian-American groups.  This coming after he campaigned for Obama on college campuses, where clearly a young, hip basketball playing candidate needed Kumar to look cooler than the 200 year old dude running against him.

I know Penn is educated and that he taught a class at UPenn, or whatever that actually was (publicists have a way of turning a few guest lectures into a professorship), but a part of me is concerned that Kumar is the answer to any of Obama’s questions.  The media are calling this a “well-kept secret”, as if anyone cared enough to hide it.  Penn’s character on House committed suicide recently and Kumar claims there are no plans for a Harold and Kumar third act, although Mandate Pictures seemed pretty pissed as they were definitely cooking one up.

Apparently, Penn’s job will pay somewhere in the 41k to 91k range and the actor does not smoke weed in real life.  Having played in a kickball league with him and the kid who played Superman in that last really, really awful Superman film, I am confident Penn is lying.  Actually, the lying might make him a better politician, or whatever he is now.  In fairness, I never witnessed him blazing, but he is effing Kumar, people.

Anyway, just to make the point, here are some pictures of Obama’s newest liason to Asian-American groups.  I don’t care how smart he is, these pictures actually happened.
